our story
I grew up in a really creative family and studied Art & Textiles, but decided to pursue a more academic path at university. After spending 12 brilliant years as a Commercial Buyer, traveling the world, making lifelong friends, and meeting my husband, I felt the time was right to return to my creative roots.
When my first child was born I started oolo home, beginning with simple, lovingly made items like eye pillows and hairbands. Today, the collection has grown to include children’s clothes and beautifully crafted home goods, all deeply inspired by my African heritage, family, nature, and my love of vintage fabrics.
I work hard to reuse fabrics and give them another life and carefully source new materials when needed, but I strongly believe that one of the biggest ways to be sustainable, is to reduce all and any waste, which is why I’m always working hard to find new projects for off cuts and remnants. All fabrics deserve to have a happy story and a long life.
I now live in Whitstable with my husband and two young children and make everything by hand at my home studio.
